ハイテク機器を装備した車がスピード違反

★スピード違反の車を警察が追跡して道路わきに停車させ、車内を調べたところ、車内にはなんとハイテク機器が搭載されていて、さながらモーバイル・オフィスで、ノートパソコン、プリンター、ルーターなど様々なハイテク機器が所狭しと置かれていたという事件がドイツで起こった。

さすがドイツのハイテク機器は進んでいると思いきや、実は車はアメリカ製フォードのワゴン車だったとのこと。

車内は様々なハイテク機器につながれたコードだらけ。

車を運転していた35歳の男性は当時時速100キロ制限のところを130キロのスピードで前を走るトラックを追い越して行ったとのこと。

このドライバー、どういうわけか120ユーロ(153ドル)のスピード違反金を払うだけで済んでしまったのだ。

運転中にこのモーパイル・オフィスを使ったという証拠はないという理由で。

★それにしてもこの車に搭載されたこのハイテク機器はいったい何のため?気になるところではある。

Man stopped for speeding had fully loaded mobile office in car, say German police

(CBS/AP) BERLIN - German police said they pulled over a driver for speeding earlier this week and discovered that he had wired his Ford station wagon with an entire mobile office - laptop, printer, router and more.

We could praise German engineering, but then again, it was an American-made car.

Saarland state police said Friday that the 35-year-old man was driving 130 kph (80 mph) in a 100 kph (62 mph) zone while passing a truck on Monday.

After chasing down the driver, they approached the vehicle and discovered the following "accessories": a wooden frame built on the passenger seat with a laptop on a docking station tilted for easy driver access; a printer; a router; a wireless internet stick; a WLAN antenna; and an inverter to power it all.

Fully loaded indeed.

A navigation system and cellphone mounted to the windshield completed the array.

Somehow, the driver got away with only a speeding ticket of euro120 ($153), because there was no evidence he used the office while driving.
