Police in Sapporo said Thursday they are looking for a man who threw mayonnaise at a female student who was walking along a street in Chuo Ward on Monday afternoon.
The assault occurred just after 8 p.m. while the 15-year-old girl was walking home. Earlier the same day, at about 7:40 a.m. near the ticket gate of JR Hassumu Station, a 17-year-old girl had mayonnaise thrown on her back, NTV reported.
Police said there have been eight such cases since April in which an unknown man came behind school girls and threw mayonnaise at their backs. In all cases, the girls were wearing their school uniforms. Six of the assaults occurred near the Nishi 28-chome subway station, police said, according to NTV.
The assailant is described as being 25-40 years old, about 170 cms tall, with short hair and wearing glasses.

今年の4月以降、同様の事件が8件も起きており、いずれも見知らぬ男が背後から女子学生に近寄り、背後からマヨネーズをかけるというもの。いずれの場合も、女子学生は制服を着ていた。
6件は地下鉄西28丁目付近で起きていると警察は話しているとNTVは伝えている。
犯人の年齢は25歳から40歳ぐらいで、身長は170センチぐらい、髪は短めで眼鏡をかけていたという。」
